Setting boundaries as a YES girl
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve always been the type of girl who found it difficult to say NO to others.
I was afraid of being “inconvenient”… the thought of first honoring my needs made me feel guilty.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking back, I didn’t understand the difference between self-respect and selfishness. Because of this, I often said no to myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m here to tell anyone that struggles with this problem that it’s limiting you in more ways than you know.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a form of self betrayal where you;
❌Say yes in order to be liked because you don’t value yourself enough
❌Care what others think to the point that you are denying your own truth or censoring yourself
❌Promise you’re going to do something for YOU, and not following through with it (i.e. self care or self improvement)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You must honor yourself and reestablish trust.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚💚💚Cultivating unconditional self love to rebuild any damaged trust with ourselves is the first and most important step.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve likely heard about the importance of self-love numerous times. The reality is, some of us don’t realize we have a self-love foundation that has been crumbled over decades. It cannot be restored by a few days of healthy habits. We need to be working at it daily, and consistently.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can start with simple practices like setting boundaries – especially if you are a “YES” girl to everyone else but yourself.

To set boundaries;
⭐️Get clear on your priorities and values
⭐️Communicate clearly and directly
⭐️Listen to your intuition
⭐️Find support
⭐️Honor your word and say YES to YOURSELF!

For me, this was a struggle at my corporate job – where there was a fine line between workload boundaries and keeping corporate happy. In what areas of your life do you struggle with setting boundaries?
