Once upon a time a few years ago, I was looking for a major career change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And by “looking” I mean, floundering around in my long list of ideas until something clicked for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every idea, from clean beauty boxes to organic tea, involved lots of research but ended just as fast as it had started.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The problem >> Essentially I wanted someone to hand me a “business in a box”, a shortcut. I didn’t fully believe in myself and my abilities. This was around the time I started reading #thinkandgrowrich by Napoleon Hill. After finishing the book, I realized what was off-kilter.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had much healing to do. My ego had learned so many things that were “unsafe”. It taught me to AVOID.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Avoid sacrifices.
Avoid confrontation.
Avoid risk.
Avoid fear.
Avoid judgment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This programming is crippling when we’re trying to follow our curiosities and live out our passions. It can make us feel confused, stuck, and overwhelmed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, my question is >>
Are you operating with your ego or soul in the driver’s seat? <<
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Operating from your ego can look like:
“I’ll feel better once I have more success, freedom, or abundance. I don’t need to heal myself first… I’ll do it once I have the time and resources.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Operating from your SOUL can look like:
“I know failure is a lesson and treat it as such. I’m happy with my life now, and my success is inevitable in whatever I set my mind to. I intuitively take time to heal myself and do inner work.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Closing with three short but IMPORTANT things;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1.
Your overprotective ego wants you to play safe. Your comfort zone = a hell yes from your ego.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2.
Successful people have core beliefs that empower them, not cripple them. Do the inner work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3.
Even if success was handed to you, where’s the fun in that?
