Whenever you’re feeling a negative emotion, acknowledge it. Try not to cover it up or overpower it with positivity. It wants to be seen. It wants to teach you something. Allow it to be, and experience it.

It’s so common for us to want to escape a negative emotion because it makes us feel uncomfortable. Breathe into it. Journal about it. Let it out and let it go. It’s there for a reason. We cannot continue pushing down our negative emotions until they manifest as physical symptoms or situations in our lives.

Letting go is revered as an art but it doesn’t need to be. Letting go is simply that, an inaction. All the positive affirmations in the world cannot rid of negative emotions that have not yet been seen or acknowledged by the self. Embrace and allow. You will find that as a buoy in the ocean, letting go will allow you to rise.
